Here it is: Me. My Boys. Hiking. Yahoo!

"L"'s SHOTS

I am putting my photo sheet together for "L" and these are the shots his agent picked.
Photographer: ME
Mother of Child: ME
How lucky am I?
I added a shot of us hiking in the mountains on Christmas day. An awesome hike with all three of my boys. (The big boy took the pic)

Cutie

The wind is howling like a wild man and I'm sitting cozy on my couch watching SYTYCD.
Life is good.
Here is my older cutie. He won't pose for me anymore but I have many tricks in my bag to get cute pics like this.
Did you hear? I booked a commercial. Tomorrow I shoot a Time Warner commercial and I'm crazy excited.

The Energizer Bunny

Since L has been born I have been channeling this strange sense of energy. I just keep going and I’m afraid if I stop, I’ll go crashing. It’s really great though…keeps me going from one place to the next. And yes, my 1/2 cup of coffee fuels the energy as well. Although once my head hits the pillow—I sleep so soundly and so deeply. It’s pretty fantastic and makes getting up in the morning pretty hard. But, once I do get up—I go, go, go.
Today—-Brought the kids to their respective schools/daycare then I went to two auditions. One of which was a callback and the other I was requested to dress in 1940’s wardrobe. I actually had fun with that and created quite the look. Drove in lovely LA traffic to pick up my lovable boys. Got home, did nebulizer for L, bathed the boys, did nebulizer for J, gave J dinner, put L down to sleep, Henry got home from his two auditions, made White Bean Kale soup, ate dinner…and now writing blog. I’m still not done, my head has not hit the pillow, but when it does...sweet, sweet dreams.

And here are some pics—how on earth did I produce TWO boys with such blue eyes!?
And yes, we visited the pumpkin patch. We went to a different one this time—Pierce College and although not as rustic as the one from last year it still was loads of fun.

Another Session with another Cutie!

I shot this little adorable sweetie for her ONE year birthday card.
She's my dear friend's little girl and honestly I feel like I just got the text that she was going into labor.
She was so fun to shoot and on the go--grabbing any rock that she could find.

More Headshots

I did another headshot session with the lovely Rebecca Pingree and enjoyed it thoroughly. She was such an easy model, that it made my job easy.
So, if you need new headshots---let me know!
I also shot the smaller, but still just as lovely model “K”. She was a superstar!

Simplify

I’m trying to simplify my life. I would like my days to be easier and run more smoothly for me. Having two children now, I think I have no choice. So step one of this detox is getting rid of stuff. I have a bag by the front door and every time I find something I don’t need/use I put it in the bag and eventually make a trip to the Good Will.
Also, I used to run around like a crazy person in the morning before work. Now I prepare everything at night. My bag. J’s bag. L’s bag. Breast pump. Lunch. Water. Coffee. Clothes. So in the morning…I literally jump into my clothes, grab kids and go. I’m sure my mom is smiling as she read this. It’s all stuff she has taught me.
And now I must go—lots of stuff to go prepare tonight.
Here are pics of Little L. His facial expressions brighten my day.

Fountain of Youth

Vacation is wonderful. I love it. I love to arrive at my designated spot. And at the same time I love coming home.
My family and I decided to surprise my mom for a special birthday. It worked out perfectly. Every morning we went to the beach. Swimming in the Gulf of Mexico is the best of the best. The water is warm, clear and for some reason….i feel like it could have a bit of the Fountain of Youth. I feel energized when I come out of the water. After the beach outing we would go home to eat lunch. Then swimming in the pool in the afternoon or just lazing on the patio with a good book (or a scrabble game between my mom and sister). A couple of nights we returned back to the beach to watch the sunset. Every night we ate a yummy dinner and had a good glass (or two or three) of wine. We sat and talked about life, dreams, politics (health care!), books we are reading and movies we want to watch. One night I accidentally let a big frog in the house and I chased it around the kitchen to get it back outside. I think I could live like that everyday. But then….perhaps I would not appreciate it as much. I’m so glad we went and surprised my mom. It was a trip worth every penny. Happy Birthday Mom.

Posing for me?

I’m so sorry for the lapse in blog posts. I have been out of town (celebrating my mom’s birthday with the whole family) and have been without computer/internet. The vacation was absolutely wonderful and I will share some pics in the next post. These pics are from when I was setting up my studio for headshots. “J” wanted to watch and “help”. Usually “J” runs from the camera unless I am able to catch him before he realizes what I am doing. But, of course, since I didn’t want him in front of the camera he was hamming it up for me. He was cracking himself up silly. I couldn’t help but capture him laughing. Now whenever I look at this I will be able to hear him laugh no matter where I am. I start back to work in 2 weeks. So maybe the laughing picture will be the perfect picture to put on my desk.

Headshots for sale!

My first real attempt at headshots! I used my husband as my model and I think they turned out fantastic. My husband needed new shots and during these tight economic times I thought—why don’t I photograph you? I’m so glad I did. I really enjoyed it! And working in the business for so long I really feel I know what is needed in a headshot to get a casting director’s attention. Hopefully these will work. And if you need headshots, let me know! I will photograph you for a fee.

Summertime Black and White Photo

Summertime

The summer for me is all about the beach. It really is where I am happiest. “J” explores, runs with the big “wabes” or plays with his best pal, “C”. Henry plays volleyball and I lay in the warm sand letting the forbidden sun warm me up. “L” sleeps through it all in his cozy, cozy stroller. I know I already wrote a post about how much I love summer. I can’t help it—it’s true. So this is my second post about it. And I promise that there will probably be more. During the winter you will get my winter blues post.
Also I am trying to be more adventurous with my photography. I shot all three pictures in Manual Mode. Yahoo for me.
